SpiNNaker2: A platform for bio-inspired Artificial Intelligence

SpiNNaker is an ARM-based processor platform for the simulation of spiking neural networks. In its second generation, we will take advantage of runtime adaptive body biasing to deliver cutting-edge power consumption. Numerical accelerators will enhance the utility of SpiNNaker2 for simulation of spiking neural networks as well as for executing conventional deep neural networks. Thus, SpiNNaker2 provides an ideal platform to explore the intersection between machine learning and biological neural computation. For instance, we have pioneered learning based on synaptic growth processes that outperforms conventional pruning.
