Currently Computer Vision is one of the drivers of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector where IBM supports its clients in their digital transformation. AI is used in order to create intelligent workflows that leverage automation in production and quality assurance.
Computer Vision is e.g. applied in object detection and inspection use cases. Therefore, state of the art Internet of Things (IoT) technology and machine learning algorithms are combined to innovative solutions. Goals are among others to minimize miss-builds, defects, or to increase process speed by AI.
We as IBM understand AI also as Augmented Intelligence. So, IBM designs solutions to empower the Client’s experts to become even more effective, especially by use of Computer Vision assets in labor-intensive environments. Automating processes by intelligent workflows enables humans to focus on their specializations – thus creating most impact and alleviating them of repetitive, non-value-added tasks.
In our presentation we want to give an overview about the interesting field of Computer Vision. We will present some of our assets, showing our expertise in using state of the art AI and deep learning approaches and some sample use cases. Impressions and findings from projects round off the excursion into the world of Computer Vision.
