Object detection in autonomous driving scenarios
During autonomous driving, the detection of relevant objects like traffic signs or pedestrians is an important task. For this purpose, an “understanding” of camera images on a pixelwise level is necessary. This so-called semantic segmentation can be achieved using convolutional neural networks. In this talk, a summary on these networks is given including an explanation of the deep learning mechanisms. Based on this, some challenges arising in the context of autonomous driving are discussed.
