An affordable Edge AI Mixed Signal IC with RISC V core

In this internal project analog interfaces are integrated and manufactured on a single chip together with a RISC-V based processor system with AI hardware block in a technology that is affordable for typical PE customers. This chip, currently in manufacturing, will be verified in the laboratory and tested with AI software in a real environment. It then serves as a reference chip for new developments. PE develops and supplies ASICs for European industrial customers. Edge-AI ASICs are not among them so far. However, it is becoming apparent that there is increasing interest and need for this technology. The field of artificial intelligence at the sensor node, especially in the industrial sector, is still in its infancy, but will certainly develop, according to leading analysts.
