Are semiconductor production lines ready for the magic of AI and Solvers?
Scarcity of skilled workforce, challenging supply chain for materials, and the sheer dynamics of day-to-day operations keep operation managers looking for solutions that minimize volatility and reduce hazzle. But where to start? And can the obstacles be solved by a manufacturing IT project? What ingredients are needed in both, semiconductor frontend and backend, to optimize fab operations?
In the international research project AISSI (https://aissi-project.com/) SYSTEMA has teamed up with industrial manufacturing partners (Bosch & Nexperia), academic patterns (KIT), and modelling experts (D-SIMLAB), to develop, integrate and apply novel AI-based approaches to semiconductor execution planning. By embedding reinforcement learning in a continuous framework for autonomous, integrated production and maintenance scheduling, we strive to outperform current state-of-the-art approaches in terms of efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
